I am participating in a Blog Train. It does not offically start until April 4th so if you try any of the other links I have here they will not work until then. I am putting mine up now because yep!! You said it VACATION!!!! I am so glad to be leaving this cold, cold place called Port Orchard WA. Where am I going you ask? Hmmmm..... You guess it!!! Sunny Southern CA where the temp has and I pray will remain about 70 degrees my whole stay!!!! It is still in the 30's here. Maybe up to 50 if we are lucky!! I will be gone for one week. During Easter Break for my DH and my DS. They get each other for one week and I get sun!!! I will be staying with my parents in the Back Country so I will not be by the ocean but that is okay. My skin doesnt much like too much sun! I am blonde and fair skinned. Probably the fairest you could imagine!!!

I decided for the Blog Train I would give away my Paper Pack for April's Rainbow. The swatch was almost an exact match for this kit I made. Lucky huh?

Okay, now the great important news!! My new store will be opening on April 1, 2008!! It is at www.kisscraps.com Keep It Simple Scraps. I am so excited for this opening. I have never been at the birth of a new business before so this is sooooo exciting for me!!! This is one of my most favorite kits I have done so far. I so think it is worth the money I am asking also. There are so many things you can do with this kit. Easter, Little Girls or Big Girls pages, Spring, Summer, Mother's Day, Even a Wedding could be done with this kit. There is definitely enough here to do a great album or a book. The sky is the limit.

Today in my quiet time of prayer and study I had a revelation. God given I am sure since I never have and never will come up on my own something this huge!

A "light bulb" moment as Oprah so aptly puts it. It came to me that the reason why Satan has been after me ever since I became a Christian at 8 years old and has used some of my most tremendous weaknesses and negative issues in my life to his advantage and sadly to say I have fallen for most of them and especially the fight or flight response which for me is definitely flight! The reason is because I am and will become an even greater warrior for God and Jesus Christ!! God is using this time to mold me and strengthen me into someone of great resolve and he will use me in a huge and magnificent way to further his work here on earth. What a great thing huh? I love it, love it, love it!!! Today is and was a good day!! Satan is trying even at this second to try to undermine that and use that to have me self sabotage myself by saying whew!! It's over!! The dust is settling and life will get back to normal. Hmmm.... What is normal anyways. What I did decide to do is let tomorrow be tomorrow and not bring it into today. Be grateful for a good day today and the strength that comes from that. No fears today, No not knowing what to do or where to turn. For today. Tomorrow will take care of itself. Today I claim and claimed VICTORY over the adversary!! PRAISE GOD!!!

Tomorrow a very very dear friend of mine and two other beautiful women from my church will be coming over tomorrow and we may begin to get a game plan on how to simplify my life and get things de-cluttered and organized in my home so Satan cannot hold this over my head of why I am not good enough to treat myself to a day off. Or go out and have a few fun days a week. I need so desperately to get out of my home and do some things that I like, not errands but things that I like to do and also to spend time with my Christian friends. At the beginning of the week I was struggling with this whole process and even letting them come over at all. It is a humiliating process for me. A humbling one at the very least. Well, today Thursday the day before the are coming. I am feeling at Peace over the whole prospect. We may not get much accomplished physically tomorrow but I feel there will be some movement forward and that in itself will be a comfort for me.

Tomorrow is a new day and believe it or not I am anxious for it. Whatever it ends up holding. This hasnt happened in a very long time for me.

No New Layouts Today

Even though I do not have any layouts today I feel compelled to write. I started sharing my journey right now Spiritually and how can I stop now? My hearts desire is that God will use my blogging in some great and magnificant way to touch someone even if it is just one person. Just so that they know they are not alone. The horrifying feeling that we are the only one that is and has ever gone through something is Satan, the adversary or evil at its core. Whatever you choose to call it. We are not alone. God has made that so clear to me this week. I and others have prayed that God would bring other women into my life. Women who either have or are going through what I am. Women to share with. Women to pray with and will pray for me. A support system. My behavior has always been. When God brings me to that broken (teachable) state and he starts to move in my life, I back away and then hightail it out of there. Hightail it as fast as I can go. I dont want to be that kind of servant anymore. I want to stand strong and be found faithful when this crisis in my life is over. When I have finished going through this season in my life.
This morning I was crying and fitful inside myself with not knowing what to do next. Just not knowing what he wants or what I want. Feeling like I just dont know anything.
Now, I am Praising God for this because this is the place where I really, even though I have been a Christian since I was eight, find Him. I mean really find Him! His love is so huge for me!! He forgives everything before I even say it or before I even do it!! Trust has been a big issue for me ever since a family member abused me in a very personal way. So now I am learning and claiming Lord God I trust you!!! I trust you with everything!! I trust that YOU will show me the way. You will show me what to know!! YOU will show up for me in a way that I have no concept of. You are doing it now as I write in this blog!! You are doing things in my life that in no way shape or form could every be coincidental!! YOU are magnificant and an awesome GOD!!
How powerful are your lessons to me and I pray that I will continue to hear you!!
So ladies and also the guys out there please know that you are not alone!! Pray for your support circle to appear because it is in my life in a way I never thought possible!! He is working it out for me and I am so grateful!! He can do it for you too!!!!

I am Humbled

I am humbled. So much am I humbled and hope that I will continue to be humble. God has a way of humbling us just like we humble our own children!! I am continually grateful to him!! I praise him above all else. Yes, I even drop to my knees and praise him with my face on the floor, my love is so great!! All else has been stripped from me. It takes what it takes to get us to this point. Why as humans do we continually think we can navigate our lives without him? I have crashed countless times and return to him scrapped bruised and broken.

Life is so precious and I am so grateful for my family. We and our animals which make up our family are so fragile. Thursday night our dog Pierre, which we rescued from someone who was neglecting him terribly and I believe abused him horribly, was hit by a car on last Thursday night. The people did not even stop. Our dog was a small dog and they were going at a speed that I am sure they did not even recognize that they had hit anything significant. It reminded me very strongly that our cars are dangerous things that can cause great harm if we misuse them or are preoccupied while we are driving!! I implore everyone who drives to keep to the speed limit. Even if you are running late please pay attention. It may be one of your own love ones that may suffer because of your inattention. Yes, the shock has worn off and my heart is broken. I have cried a lot today and feel tired and worn out. This was the last straw of many hard things that have happened to me in the last month to six weeks. Yesterday at Church God blessed me so much and began to fill my heart with hope and love. I am beginning to not just see his presence but fill it ever slightly. All this time I know that he hasnt left me he was teaching me. Teaching me to trust him. I am still learning and most likely have to turn it all over to him many more times in my life. I do know that something big will happen out all of what he is teaching me right now. I just need to hang on and I am hanging on. Hanging on for dear life and will not let go!!

Here is a layout I did last night using my Grandma's House kit to make a memorial layout for my dog Pierre. I am thinking about having a 12 X 12 made and framing it for our family to hang up so he will always be a part of us. I miss him so. I know he is in a better place with no more suffering. He was suffering so with his skin which was not resolving and the DR. doubted that it would. He was old. Most of his life spent in great sorrow. I hope and pray we were able to lift that somewhat for him.

I am so grateful that I know without a shadow of a doubt that we will one day be re-united in heaven. What an awesome God we have. Awesome isnt even a good enough word. I will miss him until thing. My sadness right now is overwhelming.

On a happier note I also made a layout with my new kit. April's Rainbow. It will be available at Keep it Simple Scraps www.kisscraps.com as soon as it opens. It is a very spring like kit with beautiful colors. I wanted to showcase a picture of Marc and John Paul. I have tried to document their relationship and how they are changing as they grow up as wonderful brothers.

This picture was taken in December of 2008. Marc is in Iraq and is safe and sound as much as he can be over there. He is in his field of Medicine and is in charge of Sick call of about 200 or so people all together. I am so proud of him and his accomplishments at such a young age. Lots of responsibility for a 25 year old.

First Kit for Keep It Simple Scraps Site

I have a preview of my new kit for Keep It Simple Scraps. I am so excited for my new store to open. Cheryl and Dyanna asked me to come a long with them and join them in their new venture. It is a very pared down version of The Scrapping Garden. The great thing is there is no pressure and I get to have my life back!!! No longer do I feel chained to this computer because I have to get this done for this chat or get that done for that challenge, or Make sure to get your submission done for the Mega Kit. And also did I forget to do three submissions for my store or did I only do two. It all gets to be tooo, tooo much!! Then add on all of my commitments as Church and home and family and I am overwhelmed just thinking about it!!! This new site hopefully will take all of that stress away and just let me have fun designing. I know that I really enjoyed doing April's Rainbow Element and Paperpack.

I do have a little bad news not to me but you may think so. I am not going to be offering very many freebies anymore. I feel as if this community is getting to saturated with them and It really does effect my sales. I dont expect to make a million dollars at this but it does take time and effort to come up with new and fresh ideas for all of my kits as well as the elements and papers inside of them. It does cost me money everytime I make a kit as I have purchased actions, as well as other CU items to keep everything fresh. All I want is to make enough money to break even. I havent even come close to that and I believe it is because of all the freebies I have been giving away. This is not your fault as a consumer. It is the fault of the whole designing community at large. It is a sociatol problem of wanting something for nothing, or at least at a great discount. We as designers are small business people. Even though we may belong to a large site we are still in business for ourselves. We do all of our own advertising and we each own our own stores inside of the site itself. We also pay comission fees so that the site expenses can be paid and it they are lucky the administrators. Yes, it is even tough being an administrator of a site. Many times they go unpaid because the site expenses barely got paid for that paticular month. This is a dog eat dog business. And it is saturated. There are more and more new designers every day and more and more new sites opening. Not that this is a bad thing it just makes more competition out there in cyberspace.

Okay, I am off of my soap box. I am sorry if I offended anyone I just needed to get the above off of my chest. It has been weighing me down for a long long time. I know you are going to love the new site. We are trying to make it a little more upscale without losing that homey feel that was so great at The Scrapping Garden. Again, I want your feedback. I want you to let me know what you would like to see in my kits. Believe me I need some help coming up with ideas. I want my new store to be fresh but still contain updated versions of your old favorits. Look for a Grandma's House two, and another masculine kit like boys, boys, boys. I may make some QP's for sale with these kits or enough 8 X 8 QP's for you to make a nice mini album with.

I am rambling on and on and I bet all you want to see it the previews! LOL Just like me huh? Keep you waiting and in suspense. Well here they are. I hope you like them and will be there on Grand Opening day to purchase them. Believe me like everyone else my business is suffering because of the economy and I can really use your help.

I am working on a few more kits now. I am working on an element kit of my favorite Bible Verses as well as working on a Page kit called Feelin' Lucky. These will also be in my new store and I will be sharing previews of these also. Notice that I changed the color of my logo. I needed to do that so it would show up better on the Black Background of our wrapper. The darker color did not stand out that well.

I am having problems with another head cold right now that I believe has turned into a sinus infection. I think I am going to need to get in to see my doctor. I am trying not to go unless I really need to because we are having problems with our Medical Insurance. You think I wouldnt because we have military benefits because my DH is retired but YES, WE ARE HAVING MAJOR PROBLEMS. Sorry didnt mean to yell it just makes me so so mad!!! I hate insurance companies.

Anyways, thanks for listening to all of my rantings. I know they were many today.

Sad News

I have some real sad news. The Scrapping Garden is closing its doors at midnight on March 19th. It has been my home away from home for the past two years almost three. I have been designing for them for the past year and a couple of months. I am going to miss them terribly.

My sad news though can be your great news. I am going to be selling my entire store for $20.00. Over $75.00 of designing heaven. The only catch is you have to have it all downloaded before the store closes.

I will be following a few of the designers to a new site. We dont have a definite opening date. We are hoping by April 1st, so keep your eyes peeled and watch the site develop. www.kisscraps.com
Keep it Simple Scraps. We are developing a Misson Statement as we speak and are working closely to make sure that this site will help you Keep it Simple and make it meaningful. Well, it has been a little while hasnt it. I am sorry about that. I have been so busy. Busy designing new kits for you and busy taking care of the family and doing housework. Oh my I said it. I said the bad word, housework. Well moving on! lol I have some wonderful things to share with you. Some layouts and a freebie!! Yes, I said the good word!! FREEBIE!!! It coordinates with our (The Scrapping Garden's) first Members Choice kit!! It was a few extra pieces I made in case we decided to do a bonus. Well, we decided not to do a bonus and so here you go a small gift for you! The downside. You have to wait until the end of this post. Make sure you read it all because if you dont the link will not work (NOT!!!) I would appreciate if you do read and look at everything though. I have a lot to say ya know and hope that someone is reading! lol

I heard from my DS (The one in Iraq). He is at his new home in An Niminiyah. He has his assignment. He will be doing medical work after all. He will be doing sick call for approximately 120 - 200 people. He may have a lot of time with no patients but the paperwork is killer. He will most likely be doing a lot of reading and a lot of college work. It is good to know that he is safe and sound. If you get my newsletter you will get more detailed info on him so if you are interested or just nosey lol then make sure to leave a comment with your email addy and I will make sure that you get on my list. My newsletter seems to be going out once a month right now but may get to be more than that. Not more than twice a month though.

On the first my Vintage January Kit will be put into my store for $3.00.

I also am adding an add-on duo to my In My Heart Mini Kit. If you remember right the Mini Kit was offered free in January and will be put into the store for $2.00 on Feburary 1st. Also, I have a Paperpack add-on and an Element Add-on that coordinates perfectly all together and will give you enough to work with to make a brag book, a mini album or even a full album. The elements in this kit is great for Weddings, Valentine's Day, Mother's Day, or Tributes. Any kind of situation you can think of.

I made a couple of layouts with this kit. I made one of the weeks of my 365 day project and a QP for my Sing a Song Challenge. February is the first month for me to do this challenge. I am taking it over from one of the Creative Team Members at The Scrapping Garden. The choosen song for February is "Have I Told You Lately That I Love You." Written by Van Morrison and sung by Rod Stewart. I think this kit goes perfectly with that and will make such a beautiful layout.

Right now I am working on a kit called Godiva which will be the featured kit for my New Challenge at the end of the month. It is called Sketch by Design. It will be the last Wednesday of the month and run til the last Tuesday of the following month. I am just finishing it up now and should have it completed before Friday of next week.

Today has been a tough day. You know one of those days where nothing seems to work out the way you planned. When I wrote my newsletter on Sunday I promised to have two kits ready in the store. Well, that didnt happen. I tried to work on it today but gave up after having problems with getting a preview to stick. It kept disappearing even after I saved it!! Argh!!!

Well, tommorrow is a new day. I also wanted to get some advertising done today!! That always seems to go by the wayside also. I even got up early to get more done today. Of course I had laundry etc to get finished!! So much for advertising. I still would like to get it done before the week is over. I also wanted to get some designing done. I have had the itch for several days now and just havent gotten that far. I did get to work on the Member's Choice Kit Yesterday though. That was fun. It took all day but was fun!!

I have been very busy this week designing. I have gotten some of my mojo back. It seems to go in waves. So I take advantage when it is around so to speak!! lol

We took my son to the airport yesterday and he is on his way back to Kansas City. On the 5th of January he will be off to Iraq for one year. He is in the Navy but is on Collatoral Duty. He will be an advisor to the Iraq Military and will be well protected. The most dangerous part will be in the travel to and from the airport or any other assignments he might have. It also will depend on if he is at assigned to an Iraqi Base or an American Base. Please keep him in your prayers.

Here is a layout I completed this morning. My New Year's Resolution is to complete at least one layout a day if at all possible. I need to get so much scrapping done. When you are a designer it is hard to have the time to scrap too. So here you have made all of these awesome things and have nothing to show for it. I mean in ways of your own scrapping!! I also am trying to be more involoved in my home site. The Scrapping Garden. There are so many new things planned for this new year and there is a new excitement among all of the designers and Admin. It has been fun. Go check out what is going on and sign up for the Yahoo Group so you can keep well informed. http://www.scrappinggarden.com/ You will find a family of fellow scrappers and friends. I have been there for a year and a half and have not felt the need to go anywhere else. Of course there is a core group there that is really tight and those are the ones who keep everything running and come up with some great ideas.

I have made a few resolutions for 2009!! Nothing too big just a few goals. I want to be more involoved with The Scrapping Garden and get some more layouts finished. I have been paying a little more attention to my photography and have had a great time in the process. This month I am starting Cake Decorating Classes which I hope will prove to be fun. I am excited for the prospects of the new year! I am praying for improved health this year as last year was not too good of a year. I feel so bad that I didnt get a Friday Freebie posted. If you came by to pick one up and it wasnt here again I am sorry. On Thursday I had a flu and pnemonia shot and I am having a hec of a reaction. I have been sweating profusely for three days and have had horrible body aches. I am having a difficult time keeping myself hydrated because of sweating so much. I have never had so much problems with shots before. Usually all I get is a sore arm. I feel sick and tired of being sick and tired!! It seems that I just get feeling better and then something else happens! Wow, cant believe it.

Our 12 days until Christmas starts tommorrow I believe where there will be many fun events for you to participate in. I know you all will have loads of fun there. I found TSG in May of 2007. I have never left and probably never will.

Lately I am getting the itch to do some paper scrapping and will probably pick up some of my paper goods and make some pages for my mom for Christmas. I most likely will not get in time for Christmas but I will still have a great time making them and passing them on to her. She has tons of pictures for all of us growing up etc and has not done anything with them so this will help her to just stick those pics down and that is that!! I also am working on a mini album for them. It will be of our Christmas together this year since my son will be here for about a week before going to Iraq.

I have finally found some peace in turning my son over to the care of God. It is the only thing that is keeping me sane. When I start to worry or freak out I stop turn it over to God and then get busy doing something!! It always helps. At first it was sooo hard but now it is getting so easy and I dont take the worry back as often.

I had so much problems posting on my blog yesterday that I gave up!! I dont know what the problem was but things kept deleting themseleves and I couldnt believe it. I wanted to through my puter against the wall. When I get to that point I have to stop, take a deep breath and stop what I am trying to do. It is not the end of the world. Whew!! I think I have finally gotten my Christmas shopping finished!! My DH's birthday is on Jan 1st so I have his b-day present all ready too!! I got him an 8gb Nano and a stero system for it also. It is a Sony and has a CD player with it also. I am sure it will end up being mostly for the whole family. At least the stero part as we no longer have anyway to play music except in our vehicles. I was hoping to have another freebie for you today but for some reason I am having problems with my hotmail account and photobucket. It is taking so long for it to load up that it is kicking me off of them. GRRRR!!!...

I appreciate all of the comments I got on my pictures of Mira. I was very surprised when I popped them up on the computer and they came out so well. With just a little photo shopping mostly with the levels they were amazing!!! I still have tons of presents to wrap and cards to get out which I dont know if that will happen yet. If I am able to get my programs to work properly I will get a freebie posted later.

Sorry it has been so long since I last posted anything. My life has turned topsy turvie and I have not had any time at all to post anything!! I have gotten more involved with taking pictures and recently have taken so awesome photos of my Great-Niece. I will share them with you now!

I am learning to take my camera off of program and use Manual which means f-stops and the whole shi-bang!!

Boy do I ever have a lot to catch up on!! The Doctor has changed my medication and I am already feeling so much better! It has given me a lot more energy and the pain is totally gone. I am still taking the Methadone but am wheening off of it and I will know exactly what the meds are capable of as soon as I am totally off of that.
What I have been able to do though is some designing. I have a lot of new things to share with you and hopefully I will have time tommorrow to completely share it all with you as well as give you another freebie. Chantal has been busy with more Quick Pages for you and you know how talented she is. I also have a freebie up my sleeve for you myself. So hopefully I will continue to have the good energy to follow through with what I have planned.

I have not been a very good girl about blogging this past month. I have had my son visit and then have had a hard time keeping myself healthy. From headaches to the stomach flu it has almost been way too much for me. Of course all of this has made it really hard on my Fibromyalgia. The weather has been popping back and forth inbetween nice warm spring weather to bitter cold with snow!! Not good for someone with Fibromyalgia.

Well, today I will have a Friday Freebie!!! Yeay!!! Now that I have a CT Team I have someone to make the SticKits for me. I am so lucky!! I am getting used to the quiet of having my oldest son gone. Somehow this past week he got off of his sleeping schedule again so I am attempting to get him back on it. It usually takes a few days for this if he is cooperative. lol

Under Construction

Just a small note to let everyone know as my life evolves so does my blog. I will be doing some updating on my blog in the next few weeks to come. I finally got some help. My last CT call was very successful. I have four people and one person to do my Quick Pages for me which will become my Friday Freebies. Hopefully my other CT members will also be offering QP's on their blogs also. When I have a few layouts of my Team I will be posting them here with links to their galleries. They are all very talented. I am very grateful to have them all on my Team. Diva's Designs is growing. Where once there was only one Diva there is now five!!! LOL

There are many changes are happening in my life lately. My son came home to visit for 2.5 weeks and I was so glad to see him. That is why you havent heard from me here much. I have been spending all of my additional free time with him. Even if we are just hanging out we are together and that is all that matters. Family should always be first. Good News Bad News

Well, I have good news and bad news to share. Which would you like to hear first? LOL Well, lets go with the bad lol. Well, I had someone apply for my CT position. I accepted her as she had a nice gallery set up and had been scrapping for a while. She seemed very excited and I thought wow this is going to work well. Then this morning I got the Im so overwhelmed and I dont think I can do this, yadda, yadda, yadda. Oh, man I am so disappointed. I really need the help so bad!! I am having a hard time doing the designing and the layouts etc. etc. Then there is the advertising. For some reason that always goes to the bottom of the list. That is so bad!! I need to advertise more!! I need more hours in the day!!!

Okay enough moaning and groaning!! The Good News is that I am taking over Linda Cumberland's Challenge Blueprint Challenge while she is on extended leave. I am very excited about this. It is going to be a fun challenge for me too! This month Linda already had done a sketch so I was off the hook but if I am still needed next month then I will have to make a sketch which I have never done but I am sure up to it!! I take the challenge on willingly lol!

I am still working on the featured kit but have one of the posting bonus' to show you. This bonus is if you complete the challenge with the featured kit. Here it is!:

I'm Back!!

It is so nice to be back on my own blog. While I like blogging on The Scrapping Garden's Blog once in a while it is just so good to be home!! I had a pretty interesting weekend considering that Dean worked all day on Saturday and then was gone doing personal stuff all day on Sunday.

Saturday Morning John Paul and I went out to Breakfast. We always do that when Dean works. It gives him and I something to do together and he really does love going to Breakfast the most. The great thing for him was that Dean called after he got off work and wanted to meet us at the same resturant that I took John out for Breakfast. They serve Breakfast 24 hours a day so John got two Breakfasts!! He was so happy!! It would be nice if everyone was so easy to please!! Then when Dean was finished with his errands on Sunday we met him in Tacoma at Applebee's for Dinner. Whenever we go there I always get a half salad so I have room for dessert. I got the flowing Chocolate Cake with icecream. OMG it was so rich. I got to the last two bites and couldnt eat anymore. I was starting to get nauseated. I should have ordered coffee with it. I will know for next time. It was worth it though. So good. Soooo... Chocolatey(if that isnt a word I just now invented it!! LOL)

My Nephew's wife called me this morning which was a wonderful surprise!! I havent heard from them in so long! They had been homeschooling the boys which was totally not working. Well this year they decided to put the boys back into school. I am so happy. One answered prayer. Their youngest son is ADHD. They had not been medicating him. Just trying to take care of it naturally. Well, that didnt work so they finally got him put on Adderall!! Another answered prayer!! Their youngest child which is a girl. Her name is Mira is walking and talking. She is very, very intelligent. She is the cutest thing too. I will share a layout with her in it!!

This is a layout using Linda Cumberland's Kit called "Madeline" Before I started Designing I used to be a CT for Linda. Mira is on the far left. My Nephew's boys are in the Middle and John Paul is on the far right. These pictures were taken this last summer when my sister "My nephew's mother", came to visit us. I hadnt been doing layouts very long when I did this one so I know the drop shadows are a little higher than they should be.

Friday Freebie and other stuff!

Well, it is that time of the week again for the Friday Freebie.

Not much else going on here right now. Dean has gotten a bad cold again and we are just trying as hard as we can not to get JP sick again. He is continuing to do better. Next week his his re-check apt with his Doc. I cant wait to see what the x-ray says. Today was the last day of his Antibiotic so I hope it has wiped out all of the Pnemonia in his lungs. I know the Doc at the hospital told me it takes along time for his lungs to resolve after being so filled with fluid.

I have been busy designing and hope to have my Celtic Dreams Paper Pack and Celtic Dreams Element Pack done soon. I would like to get them in the store ASAP.

There is one Newsflash! I am going to be on the TSG Blog again Next Week Starting on March 2nd which is this Sunday. I love doing it and it really does boost my sales a little. I will be able to make sure that people see my new kits. I am also going to try to give out a few freebies during the week but not everyday like last time. It caused some problems with a few people having the expectations that it was a freebie blog and they got really angry when there wasnt any freebies for them when Jen took over from me. It made me feel bad that maybe I let people believe they would always get freebies. I never said that and I dont think I implied it either. After Jen got that really nasty comment I just felt bad so I will keep the freebies down to a minimum. Maybe Monday, Wednesday, Friday or something like that.

Layout Share and Crop/Chat Ads

John Paul is steadily getting better. He is worn out coming back home after school but a 15 minute nap and he is re-charged and rearin' to go. His tooth problem was luckily only swollen gums from incoming teeth. He is getting 12 yr molars. It is normal for downs kids to get teeth late and sometimes not get a lot of permanent teeth at all. I seem to be plagued with a migrane cluster headache. You know, one of those that never totally goes away. Then it explodes into a star studded pain. It has been going on for a week now. I am trying not to take anything for them but it seems that I end up doing it anyway. I guess that is why I have had it for so long. I get re-bound headaches from taking anything for my headache. I just cant handle the pain especially when I throw up because of it.

All else is going good. I went into Silverdale this week to get my IRS receipt for how much I paid in on my business taxes. Next year will be worse because it is a whole year. I get paid for being JP's caregiver since he is over 18 years old. I get paid fairly well I might add. The only complaint is that it puts us in a higher tax bracket and I have to pay quarterly taxes. YUCK!! At least it pretty much insures we will get something in return. Our tax return ususally pays for our summer activities. I know I am going to want to go see my family a few times this next year with my dad losing his memory I want to enjoy him now while I can.

I also went by Michaels I finally broke down and got myself a Crop a dial. I cant believe I waited so long to purchase one. I was afraid I wasnt going to be able to use it because of my wrist problem. Wow, This was so easy to use. I am so glad I got it. I recommend it to anyone who is still paper scrapping or doing altered art or hybrid scrapping. It make punching holes and setting eyelets a breeze. I have two other eyelet setters I do not know what to do with now. I dont think my mother would be able to use either one. I dont know of anyone else who scrapbooks or would need an eyelet setter. Maybe I will call Carol. Maybe there is someone in her group who could use it.

I am so excited!! Marsha aka Froggypond and I have our first Chat /Crop coming up!! It will be on March 4th at 7:00 PM eastern time. 4:00 pm Pacific Time. 3:00 for Alaska Time. It is an Element Challenge. At the Crop we will introduce the element and give them out as freebies. Then we will explain the Challenge. Friday Freebie!!!

I am greatful it is Friday!! The weekend is here. I am glad that this was a short week. John went back to school yesterday and he seems to be getting back into the routine of things. I am glad that he is well. It is nice to have my days back too! It is funny though. I miss having him around. I love him so much and got so used to him being with me the past month. So it is an oxymoran that I am glad and sad both! lol

John's teeth problem was minor. He tolerated the Dentist very well and we were able to get a really good x-ray. Where his molars are coming in it seems the roots are gone off of the baby teeth. So they should pop out at any time. This is a relief. There are no major cavities that could be causing pain. It seems the only problem is that his gums are inflamed where his teeth are coming in. I got some ambesol (mint flavored) believe it or not John likes it. It seems to be doing the trick. He is eating and drinking normally today. A big relief!! On March 5th he has a follow-up appointment and another chest x-ray. I will give you all an update at that time.

As the time gets closer for my older son to come home on leave the more excited I get. I miss him so much!! I know he will miss Hawaii as he transfers to San Diego but at least the climate change isnt too bad. My parents are doing okay. Just waiting on those tests for my father. I need to ask my mom when they will be. I hate waiting. That is always the worst part. When you do not know what is going on.

The weather here was spectacular during the eclipse. My camera's batteries ran out!! I was so bummed. My DH got some really awesome pictures though! I will be sharing them with you in the coming month. I cant wait to get them scrapped. I will have to make a special little kit for them.

The dog is doing better and is feeling pretty well. I can bathe him in a few days and that will be so good. He smells so bad. That is the one thing about Shitzues they smell.

Layout Share

Tonight I have a layout to share with you that I made for the Blueprint in my Garden Challenge at The Scrapping Garden. http://www.scrappinggarden.com/ I used a kit that I was working on. I have named it Celtic Dreams. It is a fun kit to work on and I am learning alot from it. I now have another Designer who is sharing her wisdom with me to help me learn better design principles. Her Name is Marsha and she is known as Froggypond on the forum. Make sure to check out her store too after you get finished looking at mine! lol :) Anyway here is the layout.

This is a couple of pictures of our Dream Trailer. We hopefully will live in this Trailer. As soon as my DH retires we will be on the road. We will be getting a fireplace where the cabinet is under the TV. John will also have his own bed. We are so excited. I cant believe this is something that can be possible for us. We will need to get a new truck also so that we have a truck that can pull this large of a trailer.

Well, what do you think about the kit? Do you like the colors and the gold border? What are some things you would like to see in the kit? I have tons of Irish Blood in me. I think that is where I get my short temper from. Also, when I was younger I had strawberry blonde hair. Red hair does run heavily in our family. I tease about having Irish and Scottish blood which I do. Well the story is that Scottish and Irish people have never been very fond of each other. I tell people that is why I have so much conflict going on inside of my head! lol I have enjoyed putting this kit together. I still have a lot more work to do although I do not think it will be much longer before it is ready.

John did not have too good of a day today. I hope he isnt getting sick again. Although he is cutting four molars right now also. He isnt wanting to eat which makes me think his teeth are hurting him. Poor guy if it isnt one thing it is another. I will be calling the dentist tomorrow to try to get an appt as soon as possible. His fever is still normal. I just think it is his teeth. Dean is desperately worried about him again. I hope tomorrow will be better for him.

Out To Breakfast!

We are headed out to Breakfast this morning which is a tradition of ours. We either go on Saturday or Sunday depending on Dean's work schedule. John is doing well enough for us to venture out to get breakfast. I am just so grateful he healed so fast! Thank you for all of your thoughts and prayers! He responded so well to the antibiotics. I am so pleased. Of course in the hospital they use very, very strong antibiotics. It still seems like a bad dream. I am singing loud praises for the hospital and the staff there. We were Kings and Queen while there. They were so kind, helpful and were always asking if we needed anything.

I will need to get out some of our Breakfast Out pictures to scrap to share with you. I may need to make a kit for it. I cant figure out in my mind which kit will work for those Pictures!

Back to the hospital. I think that I am going to make a brag book with pictures I took after John started feeling better of him in the hospital. I think that will be a nice unusual Thank you gift.

Now, John is feeling a little tired out. We had a friend come to visit him. Brought him a huge, huge stuffed doggie and a mylar balloon. He got down off of the couch and played for a long time with that balloon. I think he got a little tired out.

Not much else going on today thank goodness. I will share some layouts with you tomorrow or at least the beginning of the brad book for the hospital!!

John Paul Is Home!!!

John Paul is finally home. We got home yesterday evening about 5:00 PM. He is doing great! Tomorrow I am going to let him get down off of the couch and play. I think he will be able to handle it fine. He still is not drinking like he should so I have been giving him jello. He loves that. For some reason he doesnt really want anything too cold. I know he is getting several new molars right now so that may be reason why he doesnt like really cold things.

I also have gotten some bad news about my father. It looks like he may be having mini strokes that are beginning to affect his memory. We suspect that there has been a problem for the last four to five years. He will be undergoing more tests to make sure that this is really what is going on. This dementia is just as invasive as Alzhemiers but the person will live a lot longer than if it where Alzhemiers. I worked in an Alzhemiers facility for about 1.5 years and know what the future holds. It is not pretty. Especially for the family. It is so hard on the family. The tunnel is long and dark. I am trying to not dwell on it too much at the present since we do not know for sure yet. If this does happen It will help me to be able to journal about it. I am glad I have a blog. I am sorry that I do not have a Friday Freebie Posted. I hope you all understand in light of me being in the hospital with JP all week. Didnt get too much computer time as well as there being no internet connection.

I am looking for a couple Creative Team Members. I will be posting the call in the next week or so. I will post it here and at Digital Shop Talk. I will be posting a Guest CT call at the Scrapping Garden. It will be a Three month commitment. I do not want to put all of my customers on my CT Team. I will end up not making any money! John is still running a low grade temprature. I cant believe it. It seems to me the fever should have abated by now. I am almost tempted to take him back in if he isnt better by tomorrow. I have never seen the flu act like this before. Usually the temp. lasts for a few days and then is over with. I have been giving him pudding and popsicles and yougurt. He seems to have a very bad cough. I am afraid that he may have Pnemonia now. I think I will take him in tomorrow. It surely will make me feel better anyway.

Not much going on today. I worked most of the day getting my add-on kit ready to submit to get into the store. I was home alone with JP today too. So I felt like I was split in two trying to take care of him and also get work done.

I did get my mini kit finished for the TSG Blog. That took me a few hours. I used the kit that I made for the Color Challenge. It will make a great freebie Mini Kit. I really want to let people know how I design and what my style is turning out to be. It looks like my style is going to be a Bohemien style, grungy, flourishy, vintage. I may surprise you all once in a while with a out of the box kit. That is the whole joy of designing. You have the POWER!!! lol

Crazy time again. I have a feeling this will be my life for awhile. I have been really busy designing the rest of my Chocolate Silk Kit so I can get it all in my store for you. It will end up being a huge kit by the time I am finished. I will be listing the Kit that I made for the Color Challenge as a Lil Bud Kit and then I have a Paper Add-on that will have many more papers including some that look as though they have Chocolate Swirls on them. Yum. Then the element add-on. This will be one kit Im telling you!

Boy, things have been crazy the past few days. Not just with getting contracts signed and reading the handbook and designing, designing, designing but the weather! It is so unusual for Western Washington to be this cold. No school on Monday and Tuesday and more snow on the way. Crazy!

I finally got everything approved for my class and got my contributions in to the Mentoring leader. Wow, like I said crazy time. Getting everything ready to send to her. The hardest part was to get my links to work! Then finding out it was something stupid like forgetting to put .zip at the end of my link!!! Ugh!!!

Everything seems to be going good around the house. The only difficult thing is having John Paul home and trying to take care of him and design too. I am working on Getting my Chocolate Silk kit ready to put into the store. That way after our debut I will be able to get it right in the store so at least I have something in there. I will be disabling the link here for my mini kit and that will be going in the store. I also have a paper add-on and an element add-on that I am working on. I then will be getting a StiKit Kit ready to put in the store also. I am also working on a kit called Bearly Valentines Day. That will hopefully be coming out soon after the Chocolate Silk Set. I also am working on a Spring Kit called Bette's Butterflies in memory of my Sisters Mother in Law. It is coming along beautifully and is going to have tons of butterflies all over. I am hoping to put at least one butterfly in every kit I do as a rememberance to her. She was one of the most patient, Compassionate women I know.

I had a great time this past Christmas. I got so many goodies for my computer. It was amazing. I also got a new Lumapix Camera which takes the most awesome pictures. This picture was taken with that camera.

I am so excited and anxious!! I sent my elements in to be looked at and there was a problem with some of them. I used a template that was not cleaned up that well that I had bought at another site other than The Scrapping Garden. So I got several of my elements sent back to me to be fixed. I fixed them sent them back and am now waiting to see if everything is good now. I am so nervous and anxious. I feel like I just gave my big pitch for work and am now waiting to see if the clients will take it or not. I have been checking my email every five minutes just about. I know I am in sad shape.

Meanwhile I have been going through my layouts and re-saving them as jpegs. My DH is making a portfolio for me. He is a professional photographer(part-time) and is getting one done for him. Mostly to give to people who would like him shoot their wedding. Although he does many types of photography. I am partnered with him as offering a service to either paper scrap or digital scrap their wedding or other pictures they may have. He will do a slideshow for me and put it to music. I also am going to write a TOU so the copyrights will not be infringed upon. It will be pretty neat when he is finished with it. I have been helping him choose the music for it. We have been having a terrible time picking out one that will work for the first section. It has been difficult. It is a big production to upload music to this program. So we are trying to make due with what he already has on their. I still have several wedding layouts to do as examples of what I will be able to do for them. Of course now that I know how to design I will be doing custom kits for their pictures. Or at least be using my own products that I make. That way there will be no problem with copyright infringement.

A sad thing that has happened this week is my DH's best friend did pass away on Tuesday. I have been helping my DH with getting a portrait that he took of his friend blown up pretty large for his wife. It is a very sad situation. He got scerosis (sp) of the liver from being too overweight. Then because he was so overweight they couldnt do any surguries for him because the odds were to high he would die on the table. No doctors would touch him to do a transplant. Sad, very sad. My heart is breaking for his wife. This all was unnecessary if he would have taken the doctors advice and lost that weight. The funeral is on Saturday and they will cremate him at the beginning of the week.

This whole situation gives you so much to think about and so much to be grateful for. I am grateful for every day I have. Even with my fibromyalgia. Things could always be do much worse.

I guess that is all for today. Sorry to end on a downer. Here in WA it was a sunny day with the temp reaching 40 degrees today. At nite it has been dropping below zero. The bucket that we have been collecting rainwater in has 3 inches of ice in the top. The ground is frozen too. I guess I will need a new garden this spring! lol

I certainly have been busy lately. Oh, my! I think I finished my last assignment for the mentoring program and am ready to send it off to the mentor. I know she has a lot to go through so I am finished so I will send it off. It isnt fair to her to wait even though everything is finished to the due date. I am waiting for an answered questionan then I will send them off.

I got an email from my son that he will be coming to visit on the way to his new post. He will be stationed at Balboa Navy Hospital in San Diego. He will be coming on his way there. He will be staying for a few weeks. I have a lot to do to get ready for him to come. He is coming on the 15th of March and will be staying until around the 7th of April. I am so excited. I miss him so much! He is 25 but will always be my baby.

John Paul has had a rough last few days. Hopefully things will calm down when he goes back to school tomorrow. I hope so! He has been so defiant lately. At least I can hold my patience. My DH has a harder time. We play tag team which helps.

I have been checking around to a lot of web sites for tutorials and commercial use items. Getting my arsenal ready for when I am unleashed and able to start designing. I want to take the time now to thank Karen Wallace. She was so wonderful to make a kit for all of the students to get us started and I have some other of her Commercial Use items. I really like her style. I think it is a lot like mine. I think I have found the font I want to use for the labeling on my kits so that will be great. I wish I had a tablet so I could use my own handwriting. It is definitely on my wish list as well as a new laptop with a larger screen. This screen makes it difficult sometimes to design if I have to have several documents open at one time. Sigh! I guess we always are wanting something better. Karen anyway after this long disertation Thank you, thank you, and thank you again. Thank you for your support and your help in finding the item I was looking for.

I also, have started on my Valentines kit. It seems to be turning out to be more on the elegent side. We will see. With my mentoring kit I started going one way and it took off in another. It kind of told me where it wanted to go.

Well, I guess that is all for today. Hopefully I will have time this next week to get a few layouts done so I can share some more with you. Friday with another Freebie will be coming soon too! It is here again already!! Friday Freebie. It seems just like yesterday that I posted the last one. Boy, time sure flies while you are having fun!! I pretty much have gotten a handle on my elements for the Great Beginnings Mega Kit that will be available sometime the beginning of February. I still have plenty more to do with lots of ideas for future kits. I am glad that I started a notebook because otherwise knowing me I would forget! I also have an altered project I hope I get to soon that I am going to use my Chocolate Silk kit. That was really the first kit I made even though it was only a mini. It actually is turning into a larger kit than I had realized. I most likely will post the mini and the add-on in the store for those who did not have a chance to get it. It was fun to put it together. I most likely will add a few more patterned papers also.

My DH had his yearly physical yesterday. He wont tell me any real details. I had to force some of it out of him. He has gained ten more pounds since last year and he was already over-weight then. I am really worried about him and his weight. The Doctor keeps telling him to lose weight. He has a friend who is morbidly obese and is now dying of Liver failure due to his weight. The big problem is not being able to do any types of surgery because he is so obese he would die on the operating table. It has scared me enough to try and get myself back to eating more healthy. You would think my dh would to. The real realization is I cannot control my DH, what he does or how he eats. It really is up to him. What he does and what he puts into his body. I do, do the shopping so that is the only way I can help him besides praying. It frightens me that I may be left alone to care for our downsyndrome son who will be nineteen in February. I do know that He has gotten to the point in his food addiction that he hides food. I have found the chips and other junk food that he has stashed here and there so I will not find it. I dont know if it is because he doesnt want me to have any which would be hording or if he doesnt want me to say anything to him. I really try to hold my toungue when I do find things because I know that getting upset or saying things just makes it worse. My DH is a stubborn one and can hold out or not do something just to spite me. I dont know some of my friends say their dhs are the same about holding out. Maybe it is just a guy thing. Anyway enough of my issues at home I bet you want your freebie!

Here I had started a post on Tuesday and started having problems with uploading things and got frustrated. Here it is Thursday and I have so many things to share now I dont know where to start.

We have started the last phase of our mentoring program. We are making elements for our debu Mega Kit that will be called Great Beginnings. I have a element share that I will share with you to show you what I have made so far in the way of elements. This is all though. I want it to be a surprise for you all. We have two weeks to make elements so it will be fun. I have seen some of my classmates elements and they all look great. This kit will definitely be worth it for you all. Anyway here is my share with you. I also have a paper made and I will share that with you also. Remember though this is it until the kit debuts. I may make a stickit for a Friday Freebie but other that that, my mouth is sealed.

I enlarged the staples so you could see them better. Here is the paper.

There you have it. I think I will be making two stickits another stickit with my Chocolate Silk kit and one with what I have done here. I will need to make a few more elements though. I have been having a blast. This is so much fun. I can see that if you dont be careful you could get burnt out. And yes, I do know about that. I also go into something full tilt and then get burnt out. At least Since I only have a monthly quota of what I have to make at least I can take a few days off here and there.

I think I have finally broken my insomnia problem. I have slept really well for several days. So instead of going back to bed after I get John on the bus, I have stayed up. Maybe I will lay down for a short while but more to make myself take a break not to sleep.
Just in a few days the house is starting to shape up a little. I dont feel as overwhelmed as I did.

I also just received in the mail yesterday the flyer for the Bead Festival in Tacoma. It will be in July. I saw a couple of classes I would love to take so I need to get busy to save some money. Beading conventions are so different than any others. The classes are so, so, expensive. If I am lucky I will be able to take two. At least I do not have to pay for a hotel.

The pressure is somewhat off now that I have gotten my blog straightened out for awhile. I can start on my new mini kit. It is called Bette's Butterflies. It is a kit in memory of my sister's mother-in-law. She passed away on Christmas Eve very early in the morning. She had mesophelioma(Asbestos Cancer). She loved butterflies. Hence the name. Part of the color palette is in the header of my blog. I also am going to start working on a Valentine Kit. Whew, makes me tired just thinking about it all. Fun, fun, fun though.

I want to take a minute to congratulate Linda Cumberland on expanding her designing business to two new stores. www.digitalscrapgarden.com, and www.digibytes.com. This means a lot more work for her but I am just so proud of my friend that she is doing so great in her business venture of designing. Want to check her things out? Today was uneventful. I pretty much spent most of the day on the computer designing. I had fun, although I was supposed to be grocery shopping. Tommorrow is another day.

Speaking of tommorrow I start a Women's Bible Study. I am really looking forward to it. We will be studying Romans. I believe this is the same book we were studying last time when I had to stop going because I got a job. Which turned out after 13 months to be a nightmare. We wont go there. It is a very long story I have put behind me now. Anyway about the Bible Study! I am really looking forward to it. I will be with other Christian Women. It will also be good to get out of the house too.

Update on my parents cruise! Of course they both loved it. Yes, my dad got off the ship and had a blast taking pictures. My mom told me he took over 600, Yes, 600!! pictures. He was also very gracious to the people he took pictures of he gave them a couple of dollars for taking their picture. We are all saving up because we will be going on a family cruise for their 50th wedding anniversary. Fun, Fun, Fun!!! It will be in 2011 I think? I am not very good at figuring those things out.

Well, in the las few days I have bought several commercial use products that I have been wanting so I can do a good job on making your freebies for you. I am really excited! I hope you are too! I have started on the Chocolate Silk Element Add-On already. I am very happy with them.

Today is the day. I got my mini kit all uploaded to 4shared so I will have the links below.
My mini Kit is called Chocolate Silk! I called it that because I used a texture that I felt looked like raw silk and the colors from the challenge looked mostly like chocolate to me there fore Chocolate Silk. I am hoping to continue working on this and eventually make it a full kit so when I finish the Mentoring Program I will have a kit ready. I also am going to try to have at least one kind of Freebie on my Blog once a week. That way you will come back to see me and see what is going on here.

I am still under construction and would like to to come back and check often to see what else is new and different here on my blog.

Another thing I would like to do in the future is to have small challenges here so I can also give you some fun freebies.

Please excuse the mess!! I am going to be working on my blog the next week and hopefully get it set up with something more permanent so I do not have to keep changing it all of the time. Now that I have begun designing some I can make myself a nice header and get everything nice. So in the mean time please have paitence with me.

It looks as though I have gotten my first mini kit finished and will have it posted here soon for download. I am excited about that. It has a lot of paper and only a few elements but If people want something in particular made I will try to accommodate them if I am able.

Enough said for tonight I will be working on this blog tommorrow so hopefully it will look bright and cheery soon.

Well, Thanksgiving is tommorrow. Cant believe that the year is almost gone. I feel as though it just started. My oldest son Marc is on Cruise so he will get his thanksgiving dinner aboard the ship this year. Probably not super great food. At least not how I make it. John Paul and I were supposed to bake cookies today but my husband needed me to bring something to work that he forgot so that took most of the afternoon. Traffic is already beginning to get heavy. John enjoyed getting out of the house at least. Even though it is only the three of us I decided I wanted to cook tomorrow. It will be good for me. I also need to work on getting the dining room cleaned up. It would be really nice if we could eat at the table. I am also hoping for great photo ops tommorrow. Hope I am not too disapointed. I also need to get my first lesson of the mentoring program zipped up and sent out to Cheryl. I am probably the last one to send it in. I have been busy making beaded ornament covers. I also need to start on getting a digital profile done for my part of Dean's business. I need to do three sets. Totally Digital, Hybrid and Total Paper. We will see how that works out. My parents and my sister and her husband will be leaving to go on a Mexican Crusie soon. I hope my parents have a good time. I am worried about my Dad since he has already decided that he isnt going to go anywhere off the ship. He says there is no where in Mexico he would really like to see. I think he has too much resentment against the Mexicans for envading San Diego. Envading is his word. I know it is tough for them living on the border as they do. Illegals always coming and going over their property. I hope he goes off the ship a little bit. I know he will have fun though. He is talking about getting a few massages and sitting around the pool. If that is what he wants to do I guess it is okay. I just know that my parents deserve this so much. This time of year is the best time to go too. It isnt too hot down there. I know I need to post some more layouts and will do that soon. I will also post some more stickits made with my own elements soon.

Well, things have been busy since I was accepted to be in the mentoring progam at The Scrapping Garden. It has been so much fun yet a tad challenging. The first lesson is quite easy but I added a little challenge by doing the lesson on my new CS3 program. We were to keep it simple and only add a tad of texture if we wished. Scroll down and you will see a few of my better papers. I am intending on making several more so I have a good variety to choose from to hand in. We all have decided to do a mega kit together and this will help to introduce us all as new designers after the class is finished. This is the first class so we do not know how long it will last etc. They will be working out all of the bugs with this class so our input is crucial to the program.

I wasnt feeling to well yesterday so I went to bed early around 8:00 PM and slept really well unitl 6:00 am when I got up to get my son ready for school. I went back to sleep until 11:30 am so I am feeling really good today. I went to get my hair cut finally and it came out really cute. I just hope I can maintain the haircut halfway decently. It is funny how my hair can dictate the type of day I am having. I am sure alot of you can relate to that. Tommorrow I go back for a manicure and a Pedicure. I have never had a Pedicure before so we will see if I like someone messing with my feet or not. Everyone tells me it is divine. My feet may scare her though! lol She is probably use to it. I also stopped a blockbuster and got several movies. It is the time of year that I need to make all of my gifts for Johns teachers etc. I found a really easy ornament cover on the internet that I think I will use. I will be able to get a lot finished quickly. I think those are what I am going to work on to sell at bazaars. I havent seen any of then anywhere. They are so beautiful. People always seem so happy to get them as gifts. I have several I have made for my own tree. They are beautiful and I always get comments on them. Also, you can very the patterns to have all kinds of price points so people will definitely be able to afford one. Make lots of the more inexpensive ones and make some of the more expensive ones to show and I am sure I will sell them once in a while. They also make lovely bridal gifts etc. I will take some pictures of them and post them as I make the different ones.

I just found out some awesome news! I submitted to be in The Scrapping Garden Mentoring 101 Program and was accepted! Classes start next week I was so excited and feel honored to be part of this program. After the program is over I am commited to be exclusive for The Scrapping Garden for a year. My dream of becoming a designer is going to come true! I am so so excited! Oh yeah did I tell you I was excited!! lol Yes, I am excited!!!! Monday evening is a meeting to explain about the program. I cant wait.

Today I went to a craft fair at the school where my husband works. I am glad I decided against going this year. There were so many painted items there this year. I didnt see any beaded ornament covers so I think I will work on those over the next year and Try those. I kinda got an idea on pricing so I feel It will work. It will be fun and I really like making those beaded covers. I also did not see any off loom weaving there either so I could through in a couple of bracelets maybe. It is worth a shot and if they do not sell I can keep them for me or give them as gifts.

I might even try to sell some digital work too. We will have to see. I did see some scrapbooking there but not anything like what digital scrapbooking is.

Well, I am off to take a nap now.

Well, today is November 1st. That means Thanksgiving is just around the corner. I am still back in January 2007. What happened to this year? It seems that every year goes by faster and faster.

Last week was pretty crazy for me emotionally. The fires in San Diego kept me up nights. My parents had to evacuate for a whole week! When they came home their house was still there. I witness to the fire said that it rolled over my parents house like a tidal wave. A huge bubble of air protected my parents house from serious damage. When we prayed for my parents my husband asked for God's loving hand to save my parents house from damage. If you werent a believer before I guess you would be now. Especially from what the eyewitness said. I can visualize the air being God's protective hand over my parents home. My parents are righteous people who have done God's will all of their lives. Helping others and rasing righteous childern in God's ways. We are eternally grateful to God for sparing my parents home. To this date my father is still working to help those who did lose their homes. He is commited to God's people to help in their time of need.

I seem to be feeling better which is a great blessing for me. I am living a pretty boring life right now trying to keep my stress down which will flair up my fibromyalgia. Keeping warm also is a key.

I have been working hard on learning new skills. I took a week off from all of my CT teams that I am on and worked on paper scrapping and tutorials for my CS3 program. I learned how to make customized shadows which make things look way more realistic and making ribbons and ric rac. I havent had as much time as I would like to design but I will be hopefully having more time soon. Part of my issue is sleeping too much. I just dont seem to sleep when I am supposed to. So what happens is I am not getting out of bed until noon which is bad. I keep trying to do better but am having a terrible time breaking this habit. I think what started it was when I was reading the Harry Potter books and staying up half the night. I would sleep in and I think that has really screwed up my internal clock. I have a few things to share with you. A couple of stickits and some layouts that I have made in the last couple of weeks, so make sure to scroll down to check them out!

I also have started on my Christmas painting this past week and hope to have some nice new decorations done for the house this year. I also think that I am going to start to narrow down the things that I am painting and paint those things that way it will be better to do shows etc. I really need to get going and get some bazaars scheduled for next year and maybe this summer.

I know this is a long post but I havent blogged for a while so I need to get all caught up.

I think we have finally narrowed our search down for our live-in travel trailer. I think we will be ready to purchase it around this time next year. We will need to buy a new truck. A one ton because this is a 30+ft fifth wheel. It is beautiful. We will be able to go and take a look at them on Sunday to make our final decision so that they will make sure to have one when we are ready to buy. I will take pictures to share.

I am having a hard time getting going again after being sick. I seem to have no motivation and want to sleep all of the time. If I dont snap out of it soon I am going to go to the drs. to have him check my thyroid. It just seems like if it isnt one thing it is another. It seems like us creative people have a hard time with our health or other issues going on. I guess it is the plight. Every thing else seems to be going okay. I have started on my Christmas presents. I am a little behind this year so I hope that I can get them all completed. I am taking a week break from doing peoples CT so that I can focus on things here at home and hopefully get back on track. I am hoping to have another freebie available soon and will also post some more layouts. Linda Cumberland has a few more kits available. I have been making layouts for one of them. I will post them when I am finished. Well, I hope you all have an awesome day and I need to get back to John Paul. He is home today and tomorrow because they have confrences at school. I am starting to feel a little bette now. I have had a couple of weeks of headaches and upset stomaches on and off. It makes it rough to do anything Creative. I know some of it is being out of one of my medicines. It has just about taken the Titanic Sinking to get it re-filled. I dont know who dropped the ball my Pharmacy or the Drs office. At a certain point you dont care anymore you just want your medicine.

Speaking of medicine John Paul is going through a rough patch of not wanting to take his medicine. It has caused some major upset in our family. I hope it is just a phase he is going through. Some of his medicine will land him in the hospital if he doesnt take it. On the other hand he is 18 years old and the law says I cant force him to take it so it can get pretty frustrating around our house in the mornings and evenings.

On to a better note I got some great pictures this weekend and am looking forward to doing some more digiscrapping. I also need to get some work done on my sisters vacation album both paper and digi. She has so many pictures I am doing both. It has been so much fun putting both these albums together for her. I also have been thinking about my Christmas Cards and other various Christmas projects I need to finish. It can be depressing if I dwell on it too long. It just seems as though I am never going to get them done in time. Wow, Im on a real bummer today. All negative. I probably should just stop. Dont want to get you all negative.

One good thing is my son emailed me last nite and told me he got orders to San Diego which means he will be very close to the rest of the family and a lot closer to home. I hope this means that we will see him more often. Especially my parents. They miss him so much. My sisters kids and him are pretty close in age so hopefully he will spend some time with them also.

Well, as they say if you dont have anything else good to say then go away!! LOL I will post a few more layouts and then be done for today.

Here is another layout with John Paul in it. This one has a cute story behind it. He was out in the backyard swimming in his pool. Dad stepped in the house really quick to get the camera
and in the meantime JP thought the dirt looked more fun. I laugh every time I see these photos! I keep scrapping them over and over because they are so great! John Paul had a blast until Dad had to hose him down and then he did not think the cold water was any fun!

Well, decided to take a break from doing some of my Creative Team work today and blog for awhile. Today is the day that I send out urls to all of my designers that I work for. It can really be a job and a half if I have done a lot of work for them over the week.

I told you late last nite that I would tell you why my DH has been home for a few days off of work. He teaches High School and in the District he works for they found icolli bacteria in the community water. Those poor people were without water for three days before they could get the systems purged and the bacteria out of the system. I bet it was so hard for them to have to boil their water just so they could cook or wash up. Anyway they called school for Thursday and Friday so my husband was home from work. It was great because we normally do not get time together alone very often at all. That is one of the down sides of having a disabled child. We relish every minute alone we get. Even though we were out running errands it still was wonderful to be unencumbered.

I wish it were possible for me to take a small break. It just seems like I get caught up with my CT work I take a big breath and cross my fingers for a couple of days and another landslide comes crashing down. Whew! I keep trying to take a few tutorials here and there on my new CS3 program and designing a little. Sometimes it takes staying up really late at night. I get my best work done either then or when the house is quiet during the day. I am glad that I did not take on more that 3 CT's I would have never been able to handle more that that with my schedule and the demands of taking care of John.

My parents met taking ballroom dancing classes so my parents used to go dancing alot.

When my husbands family came over from Arizona to visit for awhile we were able to spend a whole day with his family. The baby is so beautiful and is sooo good. Hey, Tracy thank you so much for your comment. You are right. It is a rainy place. We dont think we will be staying here forever but it was a good place to land at the time. It was the only place at the time we could afford to buy a house that he was offered orders to so bingo we moved here.

Well, as promised I have a couple of layouts to share with you. They are both using Linda Cumberland's new Country Harvest Kit.
This one is one of my favorites of all of the digital Layouts I have done.

I hope you like this one as much as I do. I am thinking about entering it into a contest. Leave me a comment and let me know if you think I should.

Here is my second layout that I did using this same kit. I wanted to do something so it would show off the pictures of the leaves that I took.

You are not going to believe it when I tell you that I took these pictures in the Wal-Mart parking lot in Bremerton Washington. I am sure that everyone thought that I was crazy jumping out of my truck to snap the pictures. I did see a few people staring. LOL I wish they could see what the end product was. These pictures were the best out of everything that I took.

I have been thinking about my son Marc a lot lately. For some reason I am worried about him. I usually do not worry so I am very concerned as you can imagine. It is really hard when they grow up and leave home. They are adults, you have no say anymore. You have to let go. I guess this is when the real worrying begins! I havent heard his voice in over a month. I worry about whether he is okay or not. He is in the Navy and is on a ship out on a good will cruise. I dont know where he is or what he is doing. I love him so much and only want the best for him. I worry that he is engaging in behavior that can be life changing. I am sure you are wondering what but since this is a public blog I cannot say. All I can say is that my husband and I know how devestating this can be because we both have had this problem in out pasts. I worry, worry, worry. Knowing that the only thing I can do is pray, pray, pray. I do not have the power over him to make him do what I want. I guess I never did. Only was a leveler of consiquences (sp?)

Well, as to the weather there is no rain today although it looks rather gloomy outside. It could start raining any time. Well I guess I have bent your ears enough for today so I will post again tomorrow.

Boy, I have been a bad girl. Havent blogged for a few days. I have been so busy creating layouts for Linda Cumberlands new kit Country Harvest. It is such a beautiful kit. I have been so inspired by it. In the element pack there are so many wonderful elements it makes it easy to create a stunning fall layout. Or if fall is not your thing a beautiful Country layout. I have been taking my camera around town with me when I leave the house so I can get some awesome fall pictures so I can use this kit! LOL Well, Fall has truely arrived in WA style. It has rained over 7 inches since Friday. I feel like I just got out my summer clothes. Now it is time to put them away. In reality I didnt even wear all my summer clothes since we really did not even have a summer. I can almost count the sunny days on two hands. The funny thing is we had our summer in spring with temputures reaching almost 100 degrees which is unheard of for this part of the country. I truely believe the weather patterns are changing again. There has been really unseasonable weather all over the country. My husband keeps saying I am crazy but all you have to do is open your eyes.

Rainy and Gloomy

Today was a rainy and gloomy day. When we set out for Cheny stadium to look at trailers it was fairly clear. Sprinkling a little. When we got there it was pretty windy and a little rainy. Not to bad. We saw a few trailers we really like. What we have decided to do is next year by an inbetween trailer and maybe upgrade our truck. Something that will get us through until when we are ready to pack up and leave. We are looking at about five or six years. It will be nice to have a trailer instead of a tent trailer so we can go camping whenever we would like. We will not be ready until about this time next year to purchase. We went to eat dinner afterwards and by the time we were finished it had started really raining good. Tonight it is supposed to rain six inches. Ugh!! Welcome fall as they say. I do love the leaves changing and stuff but around here it means rain!! Lots of it! They are calling for flooding in Shelton and some other outlying areas. That is never good here. I am still working hard on my Heart Bursts kit so hopefully it will be ready by the end of the week to begin handing out. This summer we had a wonderful time. We did many things that have inspired me in my scrapbooking. We went to a ghost town way up in the mountains near Drumond Montana. I took so many pictures that will eventually become paper overlays and even paper themseleves. We also went to Sea World and spent all day looking at the animals. Since John was with us we did not spend too much time in shows because they are meaningless to John. We took tons of pictures.
